I’m a graduate of Michigan State University. I’m not sorry to say that I am watching, with joy, the demise of the Michigan Football program for 2007-2008. The true issue I think is the loss of heart. They were demoralized last week and weren’t able to recover.
The question I’m curious about is what the lasting impact of these two losses will have on the players; the couch; the alumni. Who will emerge as a leader to bring the team out of the doldrums they seem to be stuck in.
The future of the coach at Michigan as well as the future careers of some of the players will depend on how they react to the adversity they find themselves in. It makes me consider how I prepare myself for adversity. Am I ready to lead my team out of the dark if that’s where we find ourselves? How do I motivate those that have lost the heart to move forward.
I love the football season.
